Avalon House

This is a large scale renovation of the existing house with a country cottage theme. The project involves opening up the living space by removing walls and heightening the roof pitch with exposed rafters to make the space feel more spacious and light filled. New custom timber windows and doors will be installed, heritage style double hung windows, casement style windows, a set of French doors and a Dutch door will be featured throughout new living, dining, kitchen and bathroom areas.

A new large country style kitchen will be installed complete with a large breakfast banquette seating area looking over the newly landscaped north facing backyard. The new living space will feature a fireplace with custom joinery for shelving and library and a feature bay window area complete with timber double hung windows will overlook the deck and backyard.

A new playroom/study, laundry and mudroom area will be created.

The bathroom will be renovated featuring a large inset bath nestled within a v-j lining board nook, the floor will feature heritage style old English tiles. Tiles in the shower will feature handmade Portuguese style Delft tiles with a ‘farm animal’ theme. CB Ideal antique brass tap, bath and shower ware will be installed. Turner and Hasting heritage style toilet and vanity to be installed.
